Nicholas Sheffield started his career in M&A at N M Rothschild & Sons in 2005, where he was based in London and then in Beijing as director and chief representative. While in China, Nick served as vice-chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce. He joined Hakluyt & Co. in London in 2016 and subsequently established the firm’s operations in German-speaking Europe, based out of Frankfurt. He later worked as a senior partner in Hakluyt & Co.’s Tokyo office. Currently, Nick serves as a senior advisor to Japan Activation Capital and is also on the Advisory Board of SOAS University’s China Institute. He holds an MSc in economics from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in economics from the University of Manchester.
